Job Title: Complex Data Specialist

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality Ab Initio components with efficient coding standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions.
  • Tune Ab Initio processes for optimal efficiency by optimizing component use and MFS file system performance.
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data through query building for system analysis and decision-making.
  • Implement design decisions using design patterns and plans in Ab Initio, creating UNIX wrapper scripts for complex transformation logic.
  • Perform unit testing, coding, design, and documentation.
  • Deliver project outcomes on time, ensuring timely completion of deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in Ab Initio development, including deployment architectures, debugging, and troubleshooting graphs.
  • Implementation and optimization of batch processes.
  • Solution proposal and implementation to enhance application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to work within common frameworks.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, pride in delivering high-quality work, and organizing/delivering work in a timely manner.

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience with Ab Initio.
  • Experience with Abinito MHUb (Reference data, Logical Models, Reports, Business Specification).
  • Custom and build extractors for MHUb.
  • Customize Permission Model & Workflows.
  • Solid experience handling large volumes of data and expertise in data integration, batch processing, delta processing, and data capturing.
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming skills - UNIX shell scripts and Python.
  • Resolving dependency issues in GDE and importing objects from EME.
  • Experience with creating rule files for Transformations and importing feeds.
  • Working experience in both continuous flow and batch graphs.
  • Creating feeds in Metadata portal and loading datasets, executables to establish end-to-end lineage for objects.
  • Executing feeds and validation in portal.
  • Importing Business terms and groups into Data Dictionary.
  • Resolving broken lineage in objects.
  • Importing non-Ab Initio objects from various sources and built lineage with Ab Initio objects using Specifications.
  • Ability to lead Agile Scrum ceremonies.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of ETL Concepts, design patterns, industry best practices.
  • Experience with ETL testing.
  • Ab Initio and AWS certifications.
