Jira Administrator Job Description

Job Summary:

The Jira Administrator is responsible for managing and configuring JIRA environments to support project tracking issue management and agile workflows. This role involves ensuring seamless integration with various tools, developing dashboards and reports, and providing user support and training.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. System Configuration and Maintenance: Set up and maintain JIRA projects, workflows, permissions, and custom fields. Administer JIRA user accounts and groups, and ensure integration with tools like PowerBI, Python, and Jenkins.
  2. Workflow and Issue Management: Create and manage issue types, screens, and field configurations. Implement and maintain custom workflows tailored to project needs, track and manage review cycles, and ensure smooth workflow transitions.
  3. Automation and Scripting: Configure automation rules for notifications, transitions, and field updates. Use scripting tools and plugins to enhance JIRA functionality, such as integrating with Jenkins for logging and automated test result uploads.
  4. Reporting and Dashboards: Develop dashboards and reports for stakeholders using JIRA and integrated tools. Export and analyze EPIC-level data for planning and implementation tracking.
  5. User Support and Training: Provide support to users on JIRA usage and best practices. Conduct training sessions and create help documentation.
