Service BU Archetype Leader

The Service BU Archetype Leader is responsible for representing their Business Unit in the SAP CoE Leadership team and leading the Service Business Archetype. This role ensures that Enterprise Resource Planning systems enable effective and efficient management of businesses assigned to the respective business archetype.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of business and strategic issues impacting the SAP CoE rationale or success, as well as risks.
  • Cultivate senior stakeholder relationships within Business Units to secure agreements and commitments required by the SAP CoE.
  • Act as a representative of their Service Business Units and advocate for their best interests.
  • Support the SAP CoE and collaborate directly with the Head of SAP CoE.
  • Promote the SAP CoE and the SAP single instance within their Service Business Unit.
  • Influence SAP CoE priority setting and decision-making processes.
  • Elevate concerns to the SAP CoE management team and Head of CoE if necessary.
  • Ensure provision of necessary resources for SAP CoE planning and delivery.
  • Chair the Business Archetype Board to review and take decisions presented by process focus teams.
  • Engage with Global Business Process Owners to participate in design decisions.
  • Present the Business Archetype perspective on existing process best practices and facilitate engagement with BU Service GBPOs.
  • Collaborate with SAP CoE Global Product Owners to review, contribute, and participate in deciding on template and design aspects presented to the Business Archetype Board.
  • Approve final design decisions.
  • Enforce adherence to guiding principles of the SAP CoE defined in the High Impact Session, specifically around fit to standard harmonization approach.
  • Nurture relationships with all other Business Units and represent the view of the business across all other Business Units.
  • Review and rule on areas identified during various topics executed in the SAP CoE.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • More than 10 years of experience in SAP service provider or similar position.
  • Global understanding of a Business Unit and a specific Business Archetype (ETO, MTO, MTS, Systems, Services, or Software).
  • Strong decision-making and issue resolution skills.
  • Comprehensive cross-functional understanding of HE business best practices and strategic direction in the context of the Business Archetype or Business Function.
  • Ability to build a strong network across all Business Lines to identify and leverage GBPOs as required for template design activities.
  • Capacity to articulate and present decision recommendations with alternatives explored to the SAP CoE Leadership Team.
  • Excellent communication, consensus-building, and commitment-seeking skills with senior stakeholders and throughout the organization.
  • Strong drive skills and leadership abilities to ensure effective solutions that drive business values.
  • Able to negotiate and convince other Business Unit Leads and Process Leaders to create consensus.
  • Experienced in representing the interests and requirements of the business in an IT implementation project.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is essential.
