With IK, you'll gain hands-on experience with design systems, learning industry-standard tools and methods under the guidance of senior designers. As a UI/UX Design Intern, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of tech education. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from assisting with design system maintenance to supporting UI production and participating in user testing. Our remote environment allows you to work independently while still being part of a dynamic and collaborative team.

You'll learn directly from experienced designers who manage large-scale design systems, gaining valuable insights and expertise that will benefit your career. Your curiosity and emerging design skills will be encouraged and nurtured, allowing you to grow and develop as a designer.

Basic qualifications include currently pursuing or having recently completed a degree or certification in Design, HCI, or a related field. Foundational knowledge of visual hierarchy, typography, color, and responsive design is also essential. Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a remote environment.

Job Description:

• Assist with design system maintenance: Help update Figma components, tokens, and documentation.
• Support UI production: Create layout variations, states, and lightweight prototypes under senior direction.
• Participate in user testing: Observe usability sessions and assist in synthesizing findings for design iterations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Attend stand-ups and design critiques with product, engineering, and content teams.
• Uphold accessibility standards: Learn WCAG principles and apply them to interface tweaks and redlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools (coursework or personal projects acceptable).
• Foundational knowledge of visual hierarchy, typography, color, and responsive design.
• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree or certification in Design, HCI, or a related field.
• Strong willingness to learn, take feedback, and iterate quickly.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a remote environment.
