Job Overview:

The Senior Quality Test Engineer will be responsible for driving process innovations that enable efficient delivery and maintenance with consistent direction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching available tools to lead initiatives identifying and implementing those that enhance testing capabilities and product quality effectively.
  • Identifying areas for collaboration with other teams to improve overall quality, implementing initiatives enhancing testing capability and efficiency.
  • Configuring, maintaining, and/or administering testing tools or environments.
  • Developing and executing automated and performance testing for assigned projects to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high-quality software products and services on time and to specification.
  • Interacting with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to plan testing for delivery of products and enhancements ensuring they meet product requirements and quality standards.
  • Maintaining flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances meeting the needs of the business.
  • Planning and executing automated and performance tests working with QA/Testing staff, project managers, technical leads, and subject matter experts.
  • Reporting issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly.
  • Ensuring that testing addresses requirements agreed upon with other stakeholders.
  • Researching available tools and participating in initiatives to implement those that enhance testing capabilities and product quality cost-effectively.
  • Identifying opportunities to apply existing automation or other tools to meet testing needs.
  • Researching and identifying root causes of performance issues in partnership with architects, developers, and network and system engineers.
  • Maintaining awareness of industry trends and evaluating emerging developments beneficial to the organization.
  • Conducting project reviews ensuring review criteria are defined, implementing procedures for quality control of project deliverables.
  • Cooperating in enhancement of methodologies employed for test planning and execution, defect tracking, metric, and status reporting.
  • Leading or participating in continuous improvement initiatives implementing best practices.
  • Maintaining a framework for record retention supporting internal and external IT audits.
  • Working across teams to enhance quality assurance/testing and helping develop/execute performance and automation testing throughout the business as necessary.
  • Identifying areas for improvement, implementing initiatives improving overall capability and efficiency with leadership, peers, or others.
  • Ensuring results of root cause analyses are addressed.
  • Maintaining flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances meeting the needs of the business.
