Chief Cyber Security Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Cyber Security Specialist to lead our efforts in designing, implementing and maintaining robust security measures that safeguard our systems, networks and data. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced security solutions to protect IT infrastructure, applications and data.
  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, anomalies and threats, leveraging tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS and firewalls.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential risks.
  • Design and implement incident response plans; lead response to security incidents, ensuring timely and effective mitigation.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs and other security tools to maintain optimal security posture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into DevSecOps practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain and update security documentation, runbooks and technical reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees and developers on cybersecurity best practices and secure coding techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong understanding of network, application and cloud security concepts, including threat intelligence and analytics.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash and PowerShell, as well as familiarity with tools like Splunk, Tenable and Qualys.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS and ISO 27001, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CISM and CompTIA Security+, as well as experience with cloud security and Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices.
  • Knowledge of container security, Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust Architecture, with experience in deploying and managing these technologies.
