As a skilled Steel Detailer and Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for detailing and reviewing drawings, preparing bills of materials, and managing procurement needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Steel Detailing: Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce accurate shop drawings and bills of materials.
  • Model and detail steel components using Tekla Structures, AutoCAD/Advance Steel or similar software.
  • Generate CNC files, bolt lists, BOM and fabrication-ready documentation.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure drawings are clear, accurate and coordinated with other trades.
  • Procurement: Review drawings and shop details to identify all materials, hardware and consumables required for fabrication and installation.
  • Create accurate takeoffs and prepare purchase lists for materials including steel shapes, plate, pipe/tube, fasteners and weld consumables.
  • Coordinate with approved vendors to request pricing, compare quotes and prepare purchase orders.
  • Track material deliveries, lead times and costs to ensure alignment with project schedules.
  • Maintain procurement logs and communicate regularly with project managers, foremen and shop leadership.

Requirements:

  • Software Proficiency: Tekla Structures or AutoCAD/Advance Steel.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.
  • Experience preparing takeoffs and bills of materials from shop drawings.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
