Job Title:

Economic Researcher

We are seeking a skilled economist to support our Manufacturing department in conducting research on economic issues, analyzing data, and advising businesses, governments, and individuals on economic topics.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will conduct surveys and collect data to analyze economic trends and advise stakeholders on economic topics.
  • They will develop strategic plans for research agendas and report concepts, ensuring timely completion of at least one detailed report within a year.
  • The role involves engaging with ministries, universities, think tanks, and other agencies in research assignments, resulting in at least one co-authored report/publication with Government/Academia.
  • The ideal candidate will identify agenda/initiatives for research work, collaborating with various stakeholders to determine relevant topics.
  • They will prepare discussion points/talking points for meetings and discussion forums, supporting the department with relevant content and points for effective delivery.
  • Making presentations in various fora's, delivering crisp presentations during committee/council/government meetings is also a key responsibility.
  • The role requires interpreting issues/concerns raised by stakeholders, recommending solutions to address these concerns.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. A postgraduate degree in economics from a reputable university is mandatory.
  2. The ideal candidate should possess thought leadership skills.
  3. Strategic thinking is essential for this role.
  4. An excellent domain knowledge and understanding is required.
  5. Conceptualization and consultative skills are necessary for success in this position.
  6. Effective communication and presentation skills are also essential.
