Key Responsibilities of a Laboratory Technician

The primary objective is to conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, maintain equipment and ensure quality standards are met.

  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests to provide accurate results.
  • Handle, store and process biological samples with precision and care.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment for optimal performance.
  • Record and analyze test results accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow strict safety and quality control protocols to minimize errors.
  • Support senior pathologists and lab staff in diagnostic work by providing high-quality assistance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Applicants must possess a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) and have strong attention to detail and accuracy. Prior experience in a diagnostic laboratory is preferred but not mandatory. Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols is essential.
