Job Title: Kafka Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Kafka Developer to join our team at Risk Resources LLP. As a key member of our technology team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing Kafka-based event streaming solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance Kafka-based solutions to handle real-time data streams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and define requirements for Kafka-based event streaming applications.
  • Implement and optimize Kafka clusters to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
  • Integrate Kafka with various data storage and processing technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
  • Develop monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of Kafka clusters and streaming applications.
  • Write efficient and reliable code in Java for Kafka-based applications and microservices.
  • Work on data security and access control mechanisms within Kafka environments.
  • Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of Kafka infrastructure and applications.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and standards for Kafka development and deployment.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes for Kafka-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams for infrastructure provisioning and automation tasks.
  • Document design, implementation, and operation of Kafka solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the development team.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in Kafka and related technologies to drive innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying Kafka-based solutions in a production environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Java programming language for building Kafka applications and microservices.
  • In-depth understanding of Kafka architecture, internals, and API capabilities.
  • Experience with distributed systems, big data technologies, and real-time data processing.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and its implementation patterns.
  • Knowledge of streaming platforms, such as Confluent, and its integration with Kafka components.
  • Proficiency in implementing security protocols and access controls within Kafka environments.
  • Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Kafka clusters and applications.
  • Solid understanding of version control systems, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in an agile development environment and deliver high-quality solutions within timelines.
  • Certifications in Kafka or related technologies would be a plus.
  • Relevant work experience in developing and supporting real-time data processing systems is preferred.
