Job Title: US Tax Associate

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated US Tax Associate to support our clients with their tax compliance, preparation, and advisory services across various client types.

The successful candidate will focus on preparing US personal (1040), corporate (1120), and trust income tax returns, as well as applying US tax treaty provisions to cross-border tax transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely US tax returns, including personal, corporate, and trust returns.
  • Apply US tax treaty provisions to ensure compliance with cross-border tax transactions.
  • Support tax planning initiatives for cross-border transactions, including drafting working papers and coordinating with senior staff and partners.
  • Assist with sales tax filings and registrations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop strong client relationships and understand their business needs, providing proactive and detail-oriented service.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years' experience in preparing/reviewing 1040 and 1120 tax returns.
  • Public accounting/tax experience preferred.
  • Strong client communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master of Commerce preferred).
  • Proficiency with tax software, such as Prosystems, FX, Gosystems, or Drake Tax.
