Job Opportunity: Lead Python Engineer

This role involves overseeing the design and development of a shared component library/SDK for pipelines. Key responsibilities include standardizing configuration, packaging, versioning, CI/CD, and documentation.

Additionally, you will be creating pluggable interfaces to allow multiple teams to swap extractors (Regex/LLM), OCR providers, and EMR publishers without code rewrites.

Responsibilities also include owning end-to-end profiling and tuning, instrumenting services with Elastic APM and correlating traces/metrics with Splunk logs; implementing robust LLM API rate limiting/governance: enforcing provider TPM and concurrency caps, request queueing/token budgeting, and emitting APM/Splunk metrics (throttle rate, queue depth, cost per job) with alerts.

Further tasks involve mentoring developers, leading design reviews, codifying best practices, writing clear docs and examples. You will also partner with ML engineers on the future LLM/SLM path (evaluation harness, safety/PII, cost/perf).

Requirements for this role include 7+ years of Python experience with strong depth in performance and concurrency (asyncio, concurrent); Splunk for logs and correlation; Must have implemented LLM-based solutions and supported them in production. Additionally, you must have API engineering skills for high-throughput integrations (REST, OAuth2), resilience patterns, and secure handling of sensitive data.

Key skills and qualifications include clean interfaces, packaging shared libs, versioning, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), testing. Building large-scale data pipelines with Apache Beam and/or Spark is also required, including hands-on Databricks experience (Jobs, Delta Lake, cluster tuning). Other requirements include OCR (Tesseract, AWS Textract, Azure Form Recognizer), PDF parsing, text normalization; LLM/SLM integration experience (e.g., OpenAI/Azure AI, local SLMs), prompt/eval frameworks, PII redaction/guardrails. Cloud and tooling expertise includes AWS/Azure/GCP, Dataflow/Flink, Terraform, Docker; cost/performance tuning on Databricks.

Finally, a security/compliance mindset is necessary, along with secrets management, least-privilege access.
