Job Title

A studio operations manager will oversee daily studio activities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Daily Operations Management

The successful candidate will be responsible for running the in-house studio efficiently. This includes managing photographers, coordinators, and editors as well as overseeing external vendors for post-production campaigns and creative productions.

  • Team Leadership & Coordination

Key responsibilities include team leadership and coordination. The manager will lead and manage the studio photography and post-production editing teams. They will allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure smooth handoffs between production and post-production.

  • Vendor Management

Vendor management is another crucial aspect of this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with post-production vendors, production houses, agencies, and freelance talent. They will negotiate contracts, track deliverables, and ensure vendors meet deadlines and quality benchmarks.

  • Process Setup & Improvement

Establishing SOPs (standard operating procedures) for pre-production, shoot execution, post-production, and final asset delivery is a key responsibility of this role. The successful candidate will implement efficient workflows to reduce shoot-to-upload time for e-commerce assets. They will maintain asset management protocols for file naming, storage, backups, and archiving.

  • Quality Control

On-set checks for brand consistency in photography and styling are essential. The successful candidate will oversee post-production QC (quality control) – retouching, color correction, and final output approvals. They will ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and legal requirements.

  • Budget & Resource Management

Managing the studio budget, equipment procurement, and maintenance is critical. The successful candidate will optimize resource usage for both in-house and outsourced work.

  • Reporting & Communication

Weekly production and post-production status reports will be shared with the Creative Head. Risks and delays will be flagged early, along with proposed corrective actions.

Candidate Profile:

A minimum of 8 years' experience in studio or production operations is required. A proven track record of team leadership across production and post-production functions is necessary. Strong vendor management skills with experience in high-volume, multi-vendor environments are also required. Expertise in workflow optimization and throughput improvement is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities are necessary. A calm under pressure attitude with a collaborative solution-oriented mindset is ideal.
