Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Controls System Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, programming, installing, and troubleshooting HVAC Controls and Electrical SCADA systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry-standard electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers, as well as controls/monitoring systems. They will also have experience with application specific controllers, Building Management System (BMS) Controls software and networks.

The specialist will work closely with multiple teams and vendors to ensure project requirements are met. They will also develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop project scope, schedule, finance, and execution to meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
  2. Manage project scope, schedule, finance, and execution of BMS improvement projects in data centers.
  3. Assist in procurement-related activities, including request for quotation/proposals, responding to requests for information, reviewing vendors' proposals, and issuing purchase orders.
  4. Support Controls projects related commissioning activities in the data centers.
  5. Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods of data center equipment and facilities.
  6. Ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.).
  7. Develop data center vulnerability remediation playbooks for control system designs in conjunction with IT teams.

Candidate Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience is required. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting or servicing HVAC Controls and Electrical SCADA systems application specific controllers, Building Management System (BMS) Controls software and networks.

Desirable Skills:

  • TCP/IP, MQTT, BACnet, and/or MODBUS communication protocol experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
