About the Role

Accolite is seeking a seasoned Senior System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, with expertise in Active Directory, DNS, and Microsoft 365.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for administering and managing our Active Directory infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with DNS and Microsoft 365 services.

This includes:

  • Managing user and group accounts, as well as security policies within Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Developing and implementing Group Policies to enforce security settings and network restrictions.
  • Maintaining the AD domain structure and ensuring proper replication between resources.
  • Implementing security measures such as password policies, multi-factor authentication, and additional safeguards to secure the AD environment.
  • Regularly backing up AD databases and maintaining disaster recovery plans for AD-related issues.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for administering and managing our DNS servers, ensuring accurate configurations for internal and external resources.

This includes:

  • Managing forward and reverse lookup zones, including records like A, CNAME, and MX, to ensure reliable network name resolution.
  • Troubleshooting DNS issues related to resolution failures, server misconfigurations, and client-side problems.
  • Overseeing DNS and AD integration to ensure seamless communication among domain-joined machines and services.
  • Implementing DNSSEC and other protocols to secure DNS traffic from potential attacks.

Additionally, the Senior System Administrator will be responsible for administering and managing our Microsoft 365 ecosystem, optimizing license allocation for services like Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

This includes:

  • User account and license management within Microsoft 365.
  • Email management, including configuring and troubleshooting Exchange Online.
  • Supporting collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Implementing security measures such as Conditional Access, Data Loss Prevention, encryption, and advanced threat protection.
  • Endpoint management, including Intune endpoint patching, policy management, and mobile device management.
  • Monitoring system health and generating usage reports using Microsoft 365 Admin Center and PowerShell scripts.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Expertise in PowerShell scripting to automate administrative tasks across AD, DNS, and Microsoft 365.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory management.
  • Strong knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, MFA, Conditional Access, and related principles for securing enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to resolve issues related to DNS resolution, AD replication, Office 365 access, and email configurations effectively.
