Tunnel Geoscience Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Tunnel Geoscience Specialist to join our team at Larsen & Toubro. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting geological surveys, analyzing soil and rock samples, and providing input on tunnel alignment and support systems.

The Tunnel Geoscience Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient construction of tunnels. Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with engineers to design tunnels suitable for TBM excavation;
• Providing input on tunnel alignment and support systems based on geological conditions;
• Identifying and assessing geological risks such as ground instability, water ingress, and other potential hazards;
• Developing mitigation strategies to address geological challenges during tunneling;
• Monitoring and recording geological data during TBM tunneling operations;
• Analyzing data to make real-time decisions and adjustments to the tunneling process;
• Creating detailed geotechnical maps of the tunnel route, highlighting variations in soil and rock types;
• Implementing quality control measures to ensure tunnel construction aligns with geological specifications;
• Working closely with construction teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide geological insights and support;
• Maintaining accurate records of geological findings, test results, and other relevant data.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field;
• Strong knowledge of geological principles and practices;
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• Proficiency in software applications relevant to geological analysis and mapping.
