Job Title: Fabrication Specialist

  • Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), or Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) based on project requirements.
  • Weld structural steel components such as beams, columns, base plates, stiffeners, etc.
  • Read and interpret welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Ensure weld quality as per American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) / American Welding Society (AWS) / Indian Standards (IS) / European Standards (EN) standards.
  • Conduct fit-up, tack welding, and final welding as per approved procedures.
  • Work with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) team for weld inspection, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) clearance, and rework if required.
  • Maintain tools, welding machines, and housekeeping in the work area.
  • Adhere to safety standards (use of Personal Protective Equipment, fire watch, hot work permits, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Industrial Training Institute (ITI)
  • 2–7 years of experience in industrial fabrication or construction
  • Valid Welding Certifications (ASME/AWS/IS preferred)
  • Ability to work from fabrication drawings and welding symbols
  • Physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces or at height
  • Knowledge of materials (Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, alloy steel, etc.)
