Job Title

A Steel Detailer & Procurement Specialist is required to support operations. This role focuses on detailing and reviewing drawings, preparing bills of materials, and managing procurement needs for projects.

About the Role

This position will involve:

  • Detailing and reviewing drawings to produce accurate shop drawings and bills of materials.
  • Using detailing software (Tekla Structures, AutoCAD/Advance Steel, or similar) to model and detail steel components including stairs, railings, embeds, and structural steel.
  • Generating and organizing CNC files, bolt lists, BOM, and fabrication-ready documentation.
  • Collaborating with the project team to ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and coordinated with other trades.
  • Reviewing drawings and shop details to identify all materials, hardware, and consumables required for fabrication and installation.
  • Creating accurate takeoffs and preparing purchase lists for materials.
  • Coordinating with approved vendors to request pricing, compare quotes, and prepare purchase orders.
  • Tracking material deliveries, lead times, and costs to ensure alignment with project schedules.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Software proficiency in Tekla Structures or AutoCAD/Advance Steel.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Revit or Tekla EPM (FabSuite).
  • A strong understanding of structural and architectural steel fabrication.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.
  • Experience preparing takeoffs and bills of materials from shop drawings.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Prior experience working with U.S.-based construction or fabrication companies preferred.
