We seek a highly experienced Steel Structures Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution Group within the Electrical Department. This role will focus on designing and analyzing steel structures for high voltage projects.

Steel Structures Engineer for Power Transmission Lines Towers Design:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing steel structures related to overhead transmission lines and substation equipment of voltage up to 400 kV, including suspension and tension towers, terminal towers, substations steel gantries, and equipment structures.
  • The ability to calculate all relevant normal and emergency load trees necessary for determining tower structural strength, including wind loads, imbalanced loads, longitudinal, transversal, vertical, perpendicular, tension forces, broken wire, installation loads, maintenance loads, etc., in accordance with relevant EN or IEC code requirements and hypotheses.
  • The ability to design lattice towers primary and secondary members and produce detailed construction-level drawings and layouts.
  • The ability to design tubular towers layouts and specify main components in coordination with manufacturers (added advantage).
  • The ability to calculate relevant static forces for substation steel structures and design steel gantries and equipment supports.
  • The ability to incorporate relevant parameters from equipment suppliers into steel structure design.
  • The ability to produce specifications for steel lattice towers, tubular poles, and substation steel gantries and equipment supports.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited University; Master's degree an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in EN, IEE, and other relevant steel structures codes.
  • Proficiency in PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE software.
  • Proficiency in BOCAD and/or Tekla software (added advantage).
