Senior Data Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining the organization's data platforms. This includes reviewing existing data collection systems, analyzing them, making recommendations on improvement or maintenance.

They will also supervise junior teams to ensure they carry out their duties in line with business goals.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in building and optimizing ETL processes, knowledge of data warehousing concepts, experience working with data warehouse solutions like Amazon Redshift, Snowflake or Google BigQuery.

They should be proficient in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform for deploying and managing data solutions in the cloud.

Other key responsibilities include collaborating with clients to understand their data needs, providing recommendations and delivering solutions that meet their requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform for deploying and managing data solutions in the cloud.
  • Expertise in building and optimizing ETL processes for efficient data movement and transformation between systems and storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience working with data warehouse solutions like Amazon Redshift, Snowflake or Google BigQuery.
  • Understanding of Python and advanced SQL for creating efficient queries.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies like Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark and related tools for processing and analyzing large data volumes.
  • Experience in managing relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Capable of resolving code errors and finding solutions for pipeline issues.
  • Skilled in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership qualities to guide junior team members and contribute to their professional development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing challenges and troubleshooting data engineering processes.
  • Approach to ensuring data accuracy, quality and adherence to best practices in data engineering processes.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.
