Firmware Development and Testing Engineer Job Description

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Firmware Development and Testing Engineer to join its team. As a key member of the firmware engineering group, you will be responsible for defining, developing, executing, and automating test models to validate firmware and BIOS testing of server and GPU products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop test models and track results for firmware/BIOS testing in pre-silicon and post-silicon phases.
  • Automate test cases using scripting languages like Python in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Drive innovation in production firmware by combining advanced firmware engineering skills with a drive to explore novel approaches to solve important problems in heterogeneous computing at large scales.
  • Evaluate and review existing processes to continuously strive to optimize the workflow.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in firmware development and testing.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and its components.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Benefits:

  • Prior experience of scripting with C++, Shell, Python, TCL/TK, and AutoIT is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of pre-silicon testing of BIOS/firmware using simulators or emulators.
  • Experience with firmware development process and tools such as debuggers and source code control systems a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

Others:

Extensive Python experience and testcase development, preferably in production environments.
