Lead Interior Components Engineer

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced engineer to lead the engineering design, technical development, and delivery of interior components for new or ongoing programs.

You will be responsible for owning commodities and components of various projects and deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost, and time.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive body cabin systems, plastic & sheet metal materials, design rules, bill of design, bill of process, DFMEA, DVP, DFM, part & assembly level tests etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering design, technical development, and delivery of interior components for new or ongoing programs.
  • Owning commodities and components of various projects.
  • Deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost, and time.
  • Manage change request, expenditure forecasting, and relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of program milestones.
  • Manage design verification test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support engineering test teams with rectification of issues.

Requirements:

  • BE/B. Tech, ME in Mechanical/Production/Automotive Engineering.
  • Previous experience of leading the resolution of business, technical, and process issues within a project team environment.
  • A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition, and change management processes.
  • Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Able to create 2D sections and 3D geometry using CATIA V5/V6/TCE/Digibuck.
