We are seeking an expert Senior Frontend Engineering Manager to lead our engineering teams in building and maintaining new capabilities for our outstanding Observability offerings. You will work within a multi-functional team of engineers, designers, product managers, and quality engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Hire and retain top Software Engineers with a focus on frontend development expertise.
  • Set goals for your team, establish credibility, and drive stability and performance of both backend services and client-side offerings.
  • Cultivate an atmosphere of continuous improvement by coaching, mentoring, and advising your team.
  • Collaborate with product owners and designers to iterate on the design and implementation of our web application.
  • Ensure stability and performance of our Observability products.
  • Provide leadership for an impactful Software Engineering Team including:
    • Performance appraisal and feedback
    • Establishing and tracking critical metrics to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA)
    • Coaching and mentoring
    • Career growth guidance/assistance
    • Facilitating knowledge and expertise sharing among team members

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field combined with at least 10 years of software development experience.
  • 6+ years of direct management experience of highly technical engineers.
  • Experience developing and delivering scalable, full-stack multi-tenant SaaS products.
  • Passion for designing user-centric experiences.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Demonstrated prior success in leading software engineering organizations of 10 or more people.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Scrum Master certification and/or recent CSM, PMI-ACP, CSP-SM, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience leading distributed teams on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, ReactJS, Angular, Java, C++, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
  • Extensive knowledge of backend web/API frameworks and/or distributed systems.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role in India is ₹4,800,000 - ₹6,600,000 per year. Splunk provides flexibility and choice in working arrangements for most roles, including remote and/or in-office options. The base pay range is a guideline and may vary based on factors such as work location and candidate knowledge, skills, and experience.

In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
