Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced optics professional to lead the design and development of our electron-optical column, source, lenses, detector coupling, and imaging quality for reliable, high-resolution performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and align the optical system for high-resolution, low-drift performance, establishing practical tuning workflows for production and service.
  • Translate optics theory into tolerances, calibration routines, and alignment jigs that are repeatable outside the lab.
  • Collaborate with electronics and software teams to ensure deterministic beam control and expose intuitive imaging controls.
  • Develop and maintain the calibration playbook - resolution, magnification, distortion - and train others to run it.

Requirements:

  • Deep experience in electron optics, hands-on with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology.
  • Ability to move between modeling, bench work, and factory documentation.
  • Clear communicator who can turn complex optics into simple, teachable procedures.

Success Metrics:

  • Consistent high-resolution images with minimal retuning.
  • Repeatable calibration across builds and over time.
  • Fast diagnosis and recovery when alignment drifts.
