Medical Writer Job Description

A medical writer is responsible for creating high-quality, client-ready scientific, medical, and educational materials such as slides, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, infographics, congress and meetings materials, literature searches and reviews, standard response letters/medical information letters, and HCP engagement content.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-quality scientific, medical, and educational materials under the guidance of scientific leads.
  • Liaise with international pharmaceutical clients, healthcare professionals, internal and external stakeholders including authors, reviewers, and key opinion leaders across therapeutic areas.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, authors/faculty, clients, and vendors.
  • Attend workshops/seminars/trainings to hone skills and contribute to organizational objectives.
  • Apply scientific and creative knowledge to develop ideas and execute effective medical communications initiatives in the digital space.
  • Ensure all materials follow/comply with client requirements, SOPs, style guides, client templates, client preferences (as applicable), and CACTUS' internal SOPs.

Key responsibilities include developing high-quality scientific, medical, and educational materials, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with client requirements.

Requirements:
  • PhD/MD (Pharmacology) or PhD (Life Sciences) or PharmD with a good understanding of clinical research and medical communication.
  • Clear and concise scientific writing, excellent communication skills, ability to adapt writing style to different materials and target audiences.
  • BASIC knowledge of biostatistics, literature reviewing and evaluation capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scientific writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
