Job Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and maintenance of infrastructure operations.

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy encompassing on-premise data center management and cloud deployments.
  • Conducts regular assessments of existing infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and optimizes system performance.
  • Manages the procurement process for software, hardware, and IT supplies as approved by senior management.
  • Ensures accurate inventory management of software licenses, hardware, and other IT assets.
  • Collaborates with senior leaders to gain buy-in for new approaches and strategies.
  • Supervises an outsourced team responsible for daily infrastructure operations.
  • Provides strategic solutions to complex business challenges requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Coordinates live disaster recovery activities and periodic drills.
  • Requires expertise in server, storage, database, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and network technologies.
  • Responsible for production incident management and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in infrastructure management, with a focus on both on-premise data centers and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proven program and project management skills.
  • Ability to plan and execute infrastructure-related projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, databases, operating systems, and networks.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles.

Desirable Functional Competencies

  • Capacity to conduct infrastructure discovery assessments and develop transformation strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data center functions, including production operations, change control, disaster recovery, helpdesk, systems management, and facilities.
  • Experience with private and public cloud architectures, including migration considerations.
