Job Title: Market Intelligence Specialist

Overview of the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our global editorial team as a market intelligence specialist.

You will be responsible for covering the global ferroalloys and bulk ores markets with a focus on India.

As a member of our team, you will work alongside industry-leading journalists and analysts to provide accurate data, real-time news, and powerful software to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report ferroalloys and bulk ore prices on a weekly basis, focusing on India.
  • Help launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, define price specifications, and gather market feedback.
  • Generate news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, working closely with reporters in Africa and Europe.
  • Write periodic pieces on topical industry issues, such as regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, and ESG.
  • Maintain strong client and industry relationships, ideally bringing these relationships from prior roles. Continually share and source market intelligence.
  • Engage actively in business development, assisting our account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets.
  • Experience in covering ferroalloys, bulk ores, or related markets as a journalist, analyst, or market reporter.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, demonstrable impact and influence skills.
  • Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions (e.g. moderating panels at conferences).
  • Strong quantitative skills advantageous.
  • Exemplary written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone.
  • Ability to manage others while maintaining personal output.
