Job Overview

As a senior test automation architect at Grid Dynamics, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust test automation frameworks to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to select appropriate tools and lead the automation testing efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the testing process.

Responsibilities

  • Framework Design: Develop and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks that align with project requirements and best practices.
  • Tool Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate automation testing tools based on project needs, technology stack, and team capabilities.
  • Test Strategy Development: Define comprehensive test automation strategies, including scope, objectives, and success criteria. Prioritize areas for automation based on risk assessment and business impact.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, QA engineers, and product managers to integrate automated testing into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Test Case Development: Design and implement automated test cases for various types of testing, including unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end tests.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure timely feedback on code quality and application performance.
  • Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior QA engineers in best practices for test automation development and execution. Foster a culture of quality within the team.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of automation frameworks, test cases, processes, and results to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software testing with a minimum of 5 years focused on test automation architecture. Proven experience in leading automation initiatives is essential.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Extensive experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, TestNG).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strong analytical mindset. Ability to interpret complex data sets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring teams. Ability to drive collaboration across cross-functional teams.
