Operations Specialist

Job Overview:

The Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating trade finance services across various products, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to clients. This role requires a strong understanding of trade operations, regulatory requirements, and client needs.

Key responsibilities include maintaining relationships with clients, resolving issues promptly, and working closely with internal teams to develop transaction ideas and solutions.

Additionally, the Operations Specialist will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to optimize client coverage and drive business growth.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential in this role, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and enhance client relationships through prompt issue resolution and proactive communication.
  2. Collaborate with internal teams to analyze and develop transaction ideas, structuring solutions for trade finance.
  3. Work closely with clients and stakeholders to coordinate transactions, manage risks, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  4. Develop and maintain knowledge of trade operations, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  5. Utilize data analytics to inform business decisions and drive growth.
  6. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives, driving efficiency and productivity within the team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7-12 years of experience in trade finance roles, preferably with a background in import/export documents, financing, structured products, or supplier finance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations, including FEMA and RBI Master Directions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and negotiate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Driven and motivated individual with a strong work ethic, able to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in data analysis and presentation creation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and industry trends, with a focus on continuous learning and professional development.

Skills:

  • Trade finance expertise, with a focus on LC issuance, bank guarantees, and import/export documentation.
  • Regulatory knowledge, including UCP, URC, ISBP, and URDG.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and flexibility, with a focus on continuous learning and professional development.
