Senior Engineering Manager

Job Responsibilities:
  • Align Sigmoid's goals with key client initiatives
  • Interface daily with customers across leading Fortune 500 companies to understand strategic requirements
  • Collaborate with VP and Director-level clients on a regular basis.
  • Travel to client locations
  • Demonstrate expertise in understanding business needs and mapping them to technology solutions
  • Facilitate technical aspects of projects
  • Design, develop, and evolve scalable and fault-tolerant distributed components using Big Data technologies.
  • Proven experience in application development, support, integration development, and data management
  • Provide technical leadership and oversee day-to-day operations
  • Mentor developers in design and coding tasks
  • Play a pivotal role in hiring technical talent to shape Sigmoid's future
  • Stay updated on the latest technology trends to ensure maximum ROI for customers and Sigmoid
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-level coding
  • Develop and implement APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns to address complex distributed computing challenges
  • Experience in defining technical requirements, data extraction, data transformation, automating jobs, productionizing jobs, and exploring new Big Data technologies within a parallel processing environment
Requirements:
  • 9+ years of relevant work experience and a computer Science or related technical discipline is required
  • Proven track record of architecture and delivery of Enterprise-scale applications and capable in developing frameworks, design patterns, etc.
  • Ability to understand and tackle technical challenges, propose comprehensive solutions, and guide junior staff
  • Proven track record of building and shipping large-scale engineering products and/or knowledge of cloud infrastructure such as Azure/GCP/AWS preferred
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets from various sources
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or similar stack is mandatory
  • Proficiency in functional and object-oriented programming, Python or Pyspark is mandatory
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams of engineers, data scientists, and product managers
  • Technical expertise in Spark, Hadoop & GCS Stack
  • Comfort in a fast-paced start-up environment
