As a key player in creating a more just and equitable world, we are seeking an Email Marketing Specialist who can drive engagement and build meaningful connections with our community.
The RoleThis role is centered around leveraging the power of email marketing to strengthen relationships, grow our supporter base, and advance our mission.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the management and maintenance of our websites - ensuring content is up-to-date, published blogs, events, and multimedia align with our brand, and introducing new features as needed.
- Handle web hosting and domain management for existing and new projects, guaranteeing seamless transitions and smooth operations.
- Enhance SEO rankings through regular audits, keyword optimization, and analytics tracking, driving more traffic and engagement to our sites.
- Maintain websites that are fast, user-friendly, and aligned with our brand guidelines, providing a cohesive experience for our supporters.
- Manage Google Workspace across all domains (email setup, permissions, troubleshooting), ensuring efficient communication and collaboration.
- Design, execute, and optimize campaigns via Mailchimp, Mailerlite, or similar platforms, using data insights to inform decisions and improve results.
- Set up automated journeys and sequences (e.g. onboarding series, re-engagement flows, pledge follow-ups) to streamline communication and maximize impact.
- Collaborate with content leads to craft compelling subject lines, preview text, and body copy, tailoring messaging to resonate with our audience.
- Test, monitor, and continuously refine campaigns for better open, click, and conversion rates, using platform dashboards, Google Analytics, and UTM parameters.
- Segment lists by interest, behavior, and engagement to ensure targeted outreach, maximizing the effectiveness of our communications.
- Maintain clean, updated supporter databases, ensuring accurate information and efficient operations.
- Track and report campaign performance, translating data insights into actionable recommendations for improved engagement.
- Ensure compliance with email regulations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM), prioritizing transparency, consent, and data protection.
- Optimize deliverability through authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), list hygiene, and sender reputation best practices, maintaining a strong online presence.
- Work collaboratively with technical consultants when advanced troubleshooting or integrations are required, driving innovative solutions and growth.
- Align email strategies with broader campaign objectives, integrating email into multi-channel campaigns (social, WhatsApp, website, events) to create a cohesive supporter experience.
- Support the integration of email into campaign workflows, ensuring seamless coordination and maximum impact.
- Collaborate with communications and campaign teams to maintain consistency across all touchpoints, reinforcing our message and values.
Required Qualifications:
- Up to 2 years of relevant experience in email marketing or CRM communications, preferably in nonprofits or campaigns.
- Demonstrated expertise in website management, SEO optimization, and Google Workspace administration.
- Proficiency with Mailchimp, Mailerlite, ConvertKit, or similar tools.
- Strong grasp of segmentation, automation, analytics, and deliverability best practices.
- Ability to draft clear, compelling copy in collaboration with content creators.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and UTM tracking for conversions.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and data privacy regulations.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and comfort with remote collaboration.
