Data Center Protection Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backup Engineer to join our organization in a key role within data protection, requiring expertise in backup tools and tape libraries in data center environments.
- Data Protection Specialist:
- Configure and manage backup solutions: Design and implement backup processes for regular data backups.
- Troubleshoot backup issues: Identify and resolve problems related to backup jobs and tape libraries.
- Test backup and recovery processes: Ensure data integrity by verifying backup and recovery procedures.
- Maintain documentation: Keep up-to-date records of backup procedures and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with IT teams: Work with other departments on data protection initiatives.
- Monitor backup systems: Track performance and capacity of backup systems.
- Implement security protocols: Develop and enforce secure data backup practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- 9+ years of experience in backup engineering within data centers.
- Strong knowledge of backup tools, including Veritas, Veeam, Commvault, and Networker.
- Experience with tape libraries and data deduplication.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
