Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned software engineer to join our agile team, driving the development of responsive web applications using best engineering practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of distributed systems, experience with continuous integration and delivery environments, and a proven track record of building scalable web applications using Java.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as a core member of an agile team, driving user story analysis and elaboration designs, and develops responsive web applications using best engineering practices.
  • Performs hands-on software development, spending most time writing code, unit tests, conducting proof of concepts, code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.
  • Continuously refactors code, delivering improvements, and develops deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within supported domains.
  • Manages own time, working well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Collaborates with product managers, backend, and frontend engineers to implement versatile solutions to tricky web development problems.
  • Works closely with Product Owners to define requirements for new features and plans increments of work.
  • Drives automation, ensuring automated test scripts are completed for new features in partnership with QA Engineers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent 34 years of work experience.
  • 5-7 years' experience working in Java, demonstrating good Java knowledge.
  • Good web fundamentals, HTTP protocol knowledge, attitude, communication, willingness to learn, and collaborate.
  • 5 years' development experience in Java applications, enterprise settings, experience with Java 11 and above a plus.
  • 5 years' experience developing Java applications frameworks, such as Spring, Spring Boot, Dropwizard a plus.
  • 23 years' recent experience working in JavaScript Node stack a plus.
  • 3 years' experience with Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development practices, unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, browser compatibility testing.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery environment.
  • 3-4 years working in Agile SAFe development environments.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems.
  • Proven experience building scalable web applications using Java.
