Overview of Automation QA Engineer Role

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Automation QA Engineer to fill a challenging position in our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and relevant frameworks for web and backend applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify and report bugs and technical issues, working closely with developers to ensure resolution.
  • Maintain and enhance existing test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve test scripts and automation practices.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI to ensure continuous integration and deployment.
  • Generate detailed test reports and provide insights to stakeholders on application quality and stability.
  • Work with RESTful API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar frameworks.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring timely resolution of defects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong background in web and backend automation.
  • Proficiency in Java and test automation frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit.
  • Experience in API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) tools such as Cucumber for writing test scenarios in human-readable format.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Docker for managing test environments.
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as Git for managing source code.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and best testing practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot test failures efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
