Job Title: Interventional Medical Coder

Role Overview:

As an interventional medical coder, you will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting complex reports to assign accurate codes for procedures and diagnoses. Your expertise will ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and provide detailed coding rationale for internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret interventional radiology reports to assign appropriate codes.
  • Apply relevant CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for vascular and non-vascular IR procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IR coding guidelines, CPT changes, and compliance regulations.
  • Support audits by providing detailed coding rationale and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CIRCC certification is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Interventional radiology coding is required.
  • Strong understanding of radiology workflow, RIS/PACS systems, and coding tools.
  • Expertise in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes is essential.
