Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional with expertise in API testing, including manual and automated approaches. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with popular testing tools and frameworks, CI/CD practices, and be comfortable working in Agile environments.

The role involves validating backend services, automating API tests, and ensuring the overall quality of applications through consistent testing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manual Testing: Perform API testing using Postman to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Automated Testing: Automate API testing using RestAssured or Playwright for faster regression and continuous validation.
  • Test Planning & Management: Design and document test cases, test scenarios, and test data based on business requirements.
  • Defect Tracking & Collaboration: Log, track, and manage bugs using JIRA or Azure DevOps and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
  • Automation Pipelines: Build and manage test automation pipelines using Jenkins integrated within CI/CD workflows.
  • Script Development: Use Visual Studio or VS Code as primary IDEs to develop and maintain automation scripts.
  • Agile Participation: Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure complete test coverage and conduct smoke, sanity, regression, and integration testing.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in API testing, both manual (Postman) and automated (RestAssured, Playwright).
  • Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, and other test management tools.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON/XML formats.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in rotational shifts and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in end-to-end automation framework development for APIs.
  • Exposure to web UI automation tools or frameworks.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries for backend validation.
  • Experience working on real-time applications in domains like e-commerce or finance.
