Responsibilities

  • Network Design and Implementation: Develop and maintain complex network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
  • Device Configuration and Management: Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Security Solutions Deployment: Deploy and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
  • Security Assessments and Vulnerability Scans: Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Protocol Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs) and secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, SSH).
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance and optimize resource utilization.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex network and security issues.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users and stakeholders.
  • Industry Advancements: Stay updated with the latest advancements in network and security technologies.

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 3-6 years of experience in network and security engineering are necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, VLAN, DHCP) is essential.
  • Expertise in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers) is crucial.
  • Proficiency in network security technologies (IDS/IPS, VPN, firewall management) is necessary.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, or similar) is beneficial.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP are preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based network solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.

Salary Estimate

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
