Unified Communications Engineer Position

This role involves designing and troubleshooting Unified Communications architecture, PSTN trunking, CUBE & voice gateway configurations, analog devices, call flow engineering, and virtualization & cloud migration.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our team in developing and implementing Unified Communications solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in Unified Communications design and deployment, as well as strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Unified Communications architectures for enterprise customers.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to Unified Communications systems.
  • Configure and manage CUBE & voice gateway environments.
  • Develop and maintain analog device configurations.
  • Engineer end-to-end call flow designs across multiple platforms.
  • Deploy IPT solutions on UCS platforms or migrate to cloud-based collaboration.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in Unified Communications design and deployment.
  • Deep understanding of Unified Communications Products like CUCM, CUC, IM & Presence, and Expressways.
  • Knowledge of designing and troubleshooting clusters, inter-cluster trunks, and high availability configurations.
  • Experience with SIP trunks, PRIs with carriers, including codec negotiation, SIP headers, PRIs, and call routing logic.
  • Advanced IOS gateway setup (MGCP, H.323, SIP), dial peers, DSP resources, and survivability strategies.
  • Understanding of Analog Devices such as Analog Gateways, Analog Phones, Fax Devices, DTMF & Dial-tone behavior, FXS/FXO Ports.
  • End-to-end call flow design across multiple platforms (CUCM, Unity, UCCX/UCCE, Expressway).
  • Deploying IPT solutions on UCS platforms or migrating to cloud-based collaboration (Webex Calling, Cisco HCS).
  • Capacity planning & scalability, disaster recovery & redundancy, integration expertise, change control & governance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mastery of capacity planning & scalability concepts.
  • Expertise in disaster recovery & redundancy strategies.
  • Detailed knowledge of integration with third-party systems (CRM, ERP, SIP endpoints, SBCs).
  • Proven track record of leading change advisory boards, documenting impact assessments, and enforcing configuration standards.
