The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the development and execution of project plans for New Product Introductions (NPI) in the Biopharma Production Business.

This is a full-time position based out of Pune, and the ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team of project management specialists/analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage PMO standards and tools
  • Manage KPIs for the department
  • Provide coaching and assistance to team members
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings to report status and progress
  • Facilitate and document RACI and change control process
  • Set up collaboration and project management tools
  • Confirm resource allocation and engage project team resources
  • Track and document activities across a broad range of functions and contributors
  • Facilitate and coordinate requirement elicitation and completion
  • Lock down scope and work with vendors as needed
  • Track and document risk, actions, issues, and dependencies
  • Formulate mitigation plans and facilitate deployment and communication plans
  • Coordinate and facilitate execution of dry runs and prepare leadership approvals
  • Address issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Provide post-launch support and conduct lessons learned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience managing projects
  • Experience managing direct reports desired
  • PMI certification (PMP) desired
  • Formal training or experience working with MS Project, MPP tools, JIRA, Sharepoint, and Visio

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage and prioritize concurrent work assignments
  • Leadership skills to manage associates and other parties in a matrix environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage relationships and deal with conflicts in a professional and objective manner
  • Ability to learn new tools and processes quickly and effectively

Environment and Physical Effort:

Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

Work assignments are diversified, and new alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on a routine basis.

Minimal physical effort is required, and work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
