Job Summary

  • We seek an experienced Senior Science Leader to oversee the local execution of global R&D initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and innovation roadmaps.
  • The ideal candidate will provide strategic oversight and decision-making support for local R&D programs, guaranteeing technical excellence and relevance to industry needs.
  • Leveraging 10–15 years of experience in fundamental research, the successful candidate will guide scientific direction and assess the viability of new technologies.
  • This senior role requires a strong leader who can act as a key technical authority, making informed judgement calls on project feasibility, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Collaboration with global R&D leaders is crucial to ensure seamless integration of local research activities into the broader technology strategy.
  • Fostering cross-functional collaboration between material scientists, electrochemists, cell engineers, and manufacturing teams is essential to accelerate technology development.
  • The timely execution of R&D projects, balancing scientific innovation with industrial applicability, is also a key responsibility of this role.
  • This position involves driving knowledge transfer between global and local teams, ensuring best practices and key learnings are effectively disseminated.
  • Engagement with external partners, research institutions, and industry stakeholders is necessary to strengthen the company's innovation ecosystem.
  • Mentoring and developing R&D teams, cultivating a high-performance culture in scientific research and technology development, is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements and Expectations

  • The successful candidate will have 10–15 years of experience in fundamental research, with deep expertise in Li-ion battery technology, electrochemistry, or advanced materials.
  • A strong technical acumen, with the ability to assess complex R&D challenges and make sound judgement calls, is essential for this role.
  • Proven ability to bridge global strategy with local execution, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, is also required.
  • Experience in technology development, scaling innovations from fundamental research to industrial application, is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, with a track record of driving high-impact R&D programs, are essential for success in this role.
  • Effective collaboration across global teams, fostering alignment and integration of research efforts, is critical to this position.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ensuring clarity in scientific and strategic discussions, are also required.
