Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead

We are seeking a seasoned mechanical engineering leader to spearhead our product development efforts in the engineering department.

About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
  • This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and external customers to define product requirements and develop project plans.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing mechanical systems and components for products, including 3D modeling, prototyping, and testing.
  • They should also be skilled in reviewing mechanical analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA), tolerance analysis, and failure analysis, to evaluate and improve the performance of mechanical systems and components.
  • Apart from that, the individual should have experience in maintaining engineering standards and processes related to mechanical design and analysis.
  • Candidates should be able to collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure that products can be manufactured efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Participation in design reviews and provision of recommendations on the suitability of mechanical systems and components for the intended application is also required.
  • Additionally, they will need to generate reports and technical documents to communicate results of mechanical analysis to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Collaboration with quality teams to ensure that products meet applicable industry standards and regulations is mandatory.
Requirements:
  • Adequate exposure and experience in selecting and vetting equipment for specific applications.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, including 3D modeling, computation, and review of shaft design, drive selection, bearing selection, gear pinion loading, and equipment load data against specific applications.
  • Past experience in computing and vetting computations pertaining to the mass moment of inertia of equipment assemblies referred to connected motor shafts.
  • Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods of parts is appreciated.
  • Experience with mechanical design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Basic experience in stress modeling of equipment parts when needed.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and analysis.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite is a must.
