Job Title: Python Application Programmer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Python Application Programmer to join our team at Rigel Networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Salt modules using Python to automate various infrastructure tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Salt modules using Python to automate infrastructure tasks.
  • Integrate SaltStack with other tools and platforms to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Write and execute unit tests, debug issues, and ensure the reliability and performance of Salt modules.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for developed modules and processes.
  • Work closely with system administrators, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in Salt modules and related infrastructure.
  • Implement security best practices in the development and deployment of Salt modules.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in SaltStack and Python to continuously improve our automation capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Python with a focus on developing reusable and efficient code.
  • In-depth knowledge of SaltStack, including module development, configuration management, and orchestration.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
