The Role of SAP MM Consultant

About the Job

This role involves collaborating closely with business stakeholders to analyze existing processes and map them to SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SAP Module Configuration & Implementation: Configure and implement SAP modules (procurement, inventory management, material master, vendor master, etc.) according to business requirements.
  • Business Process Mapping: Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze current processes and map them to SAP solutions.
  • Requirement Gathering & Documentation: Conduct workshops and interviews to gather business requirements and document functional specifications.
  • Integration Support: Provide support for integrating SAP MM with other SAP modules (SD, WM, PP, FICO) and third-party systems.
  • Testing & Support: Lead testing efforts (unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing), identify issues, and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • User Training & Support: Offer training to end-users, and provide post-implementation support to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Change Management: Assist in the change management process and ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Process Improvement: Provide recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements.

This role requires an experienced SAP MM consultant with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in implementing and supporting SAP MM module in at least one full-cycle SAP implementation.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of SAP MM configuration, including purchasing, inventory management, material master data, procurement, and invoice verification processes. They should also have an in-depth understanding of procurement, logistics, inventory management, and materials planning within SAP MM.

Apart from technical skills, the candidate should possess problem-solving skills, ability to analyze complex business problems, offer innovative solutions, and configure SAP MM accordingly. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with business users, technical teams, and stakeholders.

Exposure to SAP S/4HANA implementations is preferred but not mandatory.
