Senior Ruby Backend Developer

We are seeking a talented Senior Ruby Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails and related technologies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with junior developers to mentor and guide them in their technical growth.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code is maintained throughout the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and implement best practices in software development.
Requirements:
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby (language fundamentals, idioms, metaprogramming).
  • Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas.
  • Familiarity with memory management, GC tuning, and performance profiling.
  • Experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, and ActiveModel validations.
  • Comfortable deploying and optimizing Passenger and Thin.
  • Deeper understanding of Thread vs. process models, connection handling, worker tuning, and memory profiling.
  • PostgreSQL and advanced usage of ActiveRecord.
  • Experience optimizing N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans.
  • Proficient with Bundler, Rake, and RubyGems.
  • Gem building and custom gem publishing.
  • Knowledge of RVM, rbenv, and chruby.
