We are seeking a skilled Research Chemist to join our team in Bengaluru.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for drug discovery programs, tracking SAR and optimizing potency, selectivity, and properties of small molecules for research programs, performing purification and structural characterization of compounds, troubleshooting synthetic problems and optimizing reaction conditions, providing mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues, maintaining accurate lab records and contributing to technical reports, collaborating with analytical teams as needed, and providing input on intellectual property activities.

Requirements include:

  • A Master's degree in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field is required.
  • A PhD in organic chemistry / medicinal chemistry is also preferred.
  • Postdoctoral experience in organic chemistry / medicinal chemistry may be advantageous.
  • The ideal candidate should have 0-4 years of hands-on experience working on bench, preferably in an industry setting.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Expertise in multistep organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and compound isolation is essential.
  • Proficiency in chromatography (TLC, column, flash), spectroscopic analysis (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC), and purification techniques (recrystallization, precipitation, others) is required.
  • A high level of creativity and productivity, combined with strong synthetic chemistry problem-solving skills, is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organic synthesis, conversant with the current literature, is expected.
  • Effective oral and scientific/technical writing communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is required.
  • Commitment to lab safety and adherence to safety protocols is essential.
  • Familiarity with reaction databases (e.g., Reaxys, SciFinder) is beneficial.
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications is necessary.
