About Our Opportunity

This is a critical role in the field of engineering that deals with the analysis and design of structures to support or resist loads. We are seeking an experienced professional who can work on the initial planning, design, and modification phases of projects, including structural analysis and design of bridges and viaduct structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for a range of engineering tasks, including performing assessments of bridges to national highways and network rail standards.
  • They will also be involved in the structural analysis and design of bridges and viaduct structures, flyovers, underpasses, culverts, and retaining walls.
  • A strong understanding of bridge and related structural design schemes is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in road and/or rail projects, particularly in UK, Middle East, and Australia regions.
  • Excellent technical skills and the ability to interpret data shared by interdisciplinary teams are crucial.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to propose alternative solutions for encountered problems are also essential.
  • The selected candidate will be able to work in a diverse team spread across different geographical locations and provide guidance to junior engineers.
  • They will also be able to handle multiple projects and lead capable design teams.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is necessary.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of design experience in structural engineering and 3+ years of experience working on rail and road bridges and associated structural engineering schemes.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as Euro Code, British Standards, AASHTO, AREMA, DMRB, and Australian Standards is essential.
