Manufacturing Project Lead

The Propellant Manufacturing Project Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development, planning and execution of a greenfield propellant manufacturing facility from inception to commissioning. This role requires strategic thinking, technical leadership and project management skills to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Lead and validate production processes to meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct system level studies, participate in specifications development, and collaborate with vendors for equipment and material requisitions.
• Apply functional knowledge and engineering principles to achieve specified performance and analyze plant operations to identify opportunities for improvement through market research.
• Review capital expenditure, operational expenditure and other stage gate documents for project approval.
• Evaluate resource availability, allocation and contractual terms & conditions.
• Develop construction methodology, project execution plans and review scope of works / division of responsibility documents for vendor selection.
• Manage potential deviation notes, change orders, concession requests and scope changes, collaborating with vendors and fabricators to ensure quality and performance of supplied equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineering and production teams to resolve complex issues and enhance system performance.
• Identify potential cost and schedule impacts on project outcomes and recommend remedial actions, promoting effective communication within the project team, vendors and owner's engineer.
• Supervise planning teams while finalizing layouts and technical specifications for seamless project implementation.
• Suggest project teams for appropriate action after risk assessment and mitigation planning.
• Advise project teams on health, safety and environment plans, programs and procedures, ensuring compliance.
• Predict performance bottlenecks and implement corrective measures to avoid them.
• Develop and implement production schedules aligned with project timelines and business objectives.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure uninterrupted production by securing raw materials and equipment.
• Suggest improvements in production strategies and monitor operations.
• Build high-performing teams to meet production goals.
• Develop and conduct technical training programs.
• Ensure all team members are proficient in the latest technologies and maintenance techniques.
• Implement robust quality assurance protocols to maintain system reliability and performance.
• Coordinate with quality assurance teams to address technical issues and ensure adherence to standards.
• Conduct regular audits and compliance checks, ensuring alignment with environmental and safety regulations.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties / statutory authorities / licensors / vendors for smooth project execution.
• Negotiate and coordinate with EPC/EPCM contractors.
• Organize and attend meetings with top-level management and planning departments.
• Resolve conflicts arising among stakeholders.
• Attend kick-off meetings with licensors, DEC and vendors, coordinating deliverables.
• Lead, mentor and supervise teams of production managers and engineers.
• Coordinate with other departments and external agencies for seamless operations.
• Manage and monitor inventory levels for efficient operations.
• Ensure cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high maintenance standards.
• Ensure project completion and closure in all aspects, including scope, procurement, material reconciliation, purchase orders, service orders, vendor payments and Capex closure.
