Job Summary

Lead the Design, development, and optimization of complex Variant Configuration (VC) models across SAP. Drive strategic initiatives to enhance scalability, performance, and reuse within the SAP VC ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and optimize complex VC models for SAP-based applications.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance scalability, performance, and reuse within the SAP VC ecosystem.
  • Review configuration models built by other team members and provide expert feedback.
  • Support SAP VC integration with SD, MM, PP, and other relevant SAP modules.
  • Monitor and adopt emerging SAP VC innovations and best practices to enhance internal capabilities.
  • Design Variant Functions where applicable.
  • Design IDOC based interfaces.
  • Work with RFC and BAPI Wrappers.
  • Web Services integration design.
Technical Skills Required:
  • Hands-on VC model building experience in a complex manufacturing environment (5-7 years).
  • A technical professional with 2+ full lifecycle SAP R/3 implementations.
  • SAP ECC 6.0 VC knowledge and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of a variant configuration product model including classes, characteristics, configuration profiles, ALE, tables, variant pricing, functions, dependency nets with constraints, BOM class nodes, preconditions, selection conditions, procedures, complex super bills of material and routes, and work centers.
  • ABAP experience in SAP S/4HANA or ECC environments with a solid understanding of system architecture.
  • Eager to learn new technologies.
  • Integration knowledge with SAP modules and non-SAP applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and desire to learn and incorporate AI workflows.
Leadership & Strategic Skills:
  • Proven ability to lead development initiatives and provide inputs to key stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring and supervising junior developers or technologists.
  • Excellent analytical, architectural, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across business and technical teams.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
