We are seeking a seasoned data science professional to join our project as a Freelance SAS Modeler Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modeling and analytics, with expertise in building, validating, and maintaining statistical/predictive models using SAS and Python.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Model Development: Develop and implement statistical/predictive models to drive business outcomes.
  • Migration Leadership: Lead the migration of SAS code to Python, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal performance.
  • Code Translation: Translate SAS macros, procedures, and workflows into optimized Python equivalents.
  • Best Practices: Establish and maintain modeling standards, workflows, and performance monitoring frameworks.
  • Mentorship: Guide team members on Python adoption, coding practices, and analytics workflows.

Requirements:

  • SAS Expertise: Expertise in Base SAS, SAS/STAT, Enterprise Miner, Visual Analytics, PROC SQL, and macros.
  • Python Proficiency: Proficiency in pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn, and PySpark (bonus).
  • Statistical Knowledge: Strong understanding of regression, forecasting, clustering, classification, A/B testing, and causal inference.
  • Migration Experience: Proven success leading large-scale SAS to Python transitions.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver high-impact results.
