Job Role:

This is a leadership position within the automotive industry, focusing on interior components and cabin systems.

The role involves leading the engineering design, technical development, and delivery of interior components for new or ongoing programs through to launch at the manufacturing plant. This includes achieving Supplier Parts Submission Warranty (PSW) in line with program timing, ensuring integrity of the cabin and vehicle systems across specific programs.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Door Trim: Soft & Hard trims, Door Trims, Tailgate Trims, Door Claddings, Pillar Capping, Finishers
  • Ownership of commodities and components of various projects, including delivering the commodity plan to quality, cost, and time, maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System
  • Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning deliverables, change request management, expenditure forecasting, and supplier team management
  • Design verification test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages, sign off, and support for Engineering test teams with issue rectification
  • Compatibility resolution with A-surfaces for technical feasibility, surrounding component packaging, and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs meeting vehicle targets

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Lead the resolution of business, technical, and process issues within a project team environment
  • Good working knowledge of product creation and delivery, change control, product definition, and change management processes
  • Knowledge of automotive body cabin systems, plastic and sheet metal materials, design rules, bill of design, bill of process, DFMEA, DVP, DFM, part and assembly level tests, etc.
  • Create 2D sections and 3D geometry using Catia V5/V6/TCE/Digibuck, experience in using CATIA V5 & V6
  • Domain knowledge, parametric modeling, BOM creation and update, GD&T knowledge, and successful history of delivery within the automotive sector
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels, PC literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.

Education:

  • BE/B.Tech, ME in Mechanical/Production/Automotive Engineering
